My passion for training, coaching and fitness began when I joined the Forces where I served for 6 years back in 1985. After an intensive 6 month training course I graduated from the Army School of Physical Training as a 1st class Physical Training Instructor. Once I returned to my Regiment I thrived on teaching and coaching in a whole variety of subjects from physiology studies to outdoor pursuits. When I departed from the Army I needed to transfer those regimented experiences into a more gentle approach to teaching.  I enrolled on a Sports Therapist course and after successfully qualifying I embarked on a new career path working in a variety of large Health Clubs. My responsibilities and positions included Fitness Instructor, Personal Training and Health Club Management.

After deciding to take a couple of years out and see what Europe had to offer me with my new found skills & experiences in hand I set off for Spain, were I worked for a private international school as their Phys Ed Co-ordinator, developing and implementing their PE curriculum for 3-16 year olds working with a wide range of nationalities. After a long break from the constant rain and unpredictable weather I returned back to the UK, wanting to stay within the area of education.  I worked for the Warwickshire College as a lecturer in Sport, Health & Fitness, Public Services and Outdoor Education.

In 2006 with a huge wealth of experience and network of trainers, teachers and coaches I formed the company First Training. The company specialises mainly in delivering training in Health & Fitness and Health & Safety.  The company is based in the UK and has a number of offices.  The head office is based in one of the busy suburbs of Manchester, Altrincham.  We are growing the business over the coming months and are currently looking at a location in Spain with a view to expanding into Europe.

The company’s aim is to offer its clients flexibility in terms of time, location and of course cost.
